Other Marine Up-Cycling

We can up-cycle some other marine safety equipment.

DISPOSAL OF EPIRBs PLBs & SARTs

If you have a time expired 406 MHz EPIRB, PLB or SART that is uneconomical to service we will usually accept it, we will de commission it and we will dispose of the battery. Please send us images first and we will confirm if we can accept and recycle your EPIRB, SART or PLB. We do not currently charge for this service but reserve the right not to accept certain EPIRBs and SARTS.

Please do not put an old EPIRBs in the bin, they can be accidentally set of on their way to land fill, diverting emergency services away from those genuinely in need. Old EPIRBS should not be left where a child or someone who does not understand what the unit does may inadvertently set it off and the battery must be disposed of correctly

DISPOSAL OF VHF & OTHER MARINE ELECTRICS

If you have a broken Hand-held marine VHF which from outside looks in reasonable condition, we are likely to be able to recycle it. Please send us images. As a general rule if it is less than 20 years old, we are very likely to accept it, if it is older we may not.

CAN YOU RECYCLE OTHER MARINE ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT?

Yes, there are lots of things we can re cycle. In particular, instruments, electric pumps, lights, plotters etc., please send us your images.

WILL YOU ACCEPT TEPs (Time expired pyrotechnics) / out of date Distress flares?

No, we do not accept loose flares / TEPs, (however when they are contained within a properly packed life-raft we will accept them). The MCA are currently responsible for the disposal of the public’s TEPs.
